We all know about, talk about and deplore the housing crisis on Long Island. It's time to do something about it.
The gravity and urgency of this crisis is well documented. Nassau-Suffolk is among the most expensive rental areas in the nation. The cost of housing has skyrocketed, employers are struggling to fill positions, and the critical lack of affordable rentals is affecting families, individuals and businesses. Low-wage workers, young people just starting out, single individuals and single-parent households, larger families and seniors on fixed incomes are being priced out of the market.
Take action!
The only way towns and villages are going to build workforce rental housing is if they hear from you. Call them, write them or e-mail.
